Ballad Health is the only option for care for over 1 million people in Appalachian Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia. Unfortunately, the quality of care has gone downhill since its merger in 2018. Patients report staying in the waiting room for 12-14 hours, “paper-thin staffing” and often driving over an hour away to receive care.
