SPOTLIGHT: Patients expect transparency. New Hampshire hospitals aren’t delivering.

New Hampshire patients and employers should have the ability to shop around their healthcare services. A new rule from President Trump would mandate that hospitals publish those prices, yet according to a report from Patients Rights Advocate, zero of the reviewed hospitals were compliant.

“There’s a basic expectation of transparency not being met by the hospitals in New Hampshire, despite the federal requirements established in 2021. Patients and employers confronting higher healthcare costs caused by hospitals’ bad actions deserve better,” said Connie Partoyan, Executive Director of Better Solutions.

In fact, only 21 percent of the 2,000 U.S. hospitals reviewed were in compliance with the price transparency rule. Americans deserve better, and that’s why Better Solutions is fighting for lower, fairer, and more transparent healthcare pricing.
